Transformational Leadership and Constructive Culture

Instructors Come From the Trades and Bring Decades of Experience to UBC Leadership Programs

The United Brotherhood of Carpenters’ Department of Education and Training (DET) aligns education, leadership, and development for members and staff with the union’s strategic priorities of growth, skill and professionalism, and organizational effectiveness. The DET’s commitment to improving the lives of working people is a passion each instructor shares. By developing and sustaining an integrated, union-wide learning system, members have access to specific training tools and programs designed to improve both individual and organizational performance at every level.

The UBC places a top priority on developing the total professional. This means that our members are not only technical experts in their craft, but also demonstrate effective communication and leadership qualities.
