We Train Tomorrow's Workers

Comprehensive Training | Reliable Labor | Competitive Advantage

The UBC’s Regional Training Centers provide direct access to elite roofing installers and the industry’s most comprehensive skills training program anywhere in North America. UBC training considers the needs of our members in not only in skill enhancement of their trade, but also in communication skills, applied science, personal development, technology training, and leadership cultivation.

For roofers, our Roofing Applications program’s comprehensive curriculum covers the information needed to effectively install various roofing systems on flat, low-sloped and steep sloped roofs. There are many factors that need to be considered with any roofing project and it’s critical for UBC members to understand the components of different roofing types, including how these components must work together to ensure a successful project. In roofing, that success means protection for the entire building underneath and the people inside.

With our network of training centers throughout North America, we transfer skills and knowledge from highly-skilled and experienced instructors to UBC members with the support of the Carpenters International Training Fund (CITF).

The mission of the CITF is to facilitate state-of-the-art training across the skilled trades, providing the union and signatory contractors with a competitive advantage in the construction industry.

Programs will range from simple tool use and material handling, to more technical systems, but one CITF initiative for members remains constant: Whatever you do, whenever you do it, be the best and be productive.
